Known as Las Jacarandas, because of the immense Jacaranda trees, this classic Monterey colonial estate was built in 1931, designed by Reginald Johnson for the New York Vanderbilt family. Located on approximately three acres in Montecito CA, it is known as one of the finest private botanical gardens in Santa Barbara.  Surrounded by mature trees that provide complete privacy, the property is lushly planted with tropical and semi tropical palms, cycads, aloes, cacti and a collection of rare and colorful flowers. There are five fountains and ponds with waterfalls surrounded by emerald green expanses of lawn, many garden rooms and patios connected by meandering pathways which provide a multitude of intimate photographic opportunities.  There is a swimming pool, Jacuzzi, guest cottage, tennis court and romantic night lighting.

The interior of the home is also available for media photography.  The foyer, dining room, living room and library are decorated with classic and antique furnishings commensurate with the understated elegance of Reginald Johnson architecture.

The kitchen, recently remodeled with Spanish Talavera tile work, custom wrought iron chandeliers and state of the art appliances, is also available for media photography.

Las Jacarandas has on site parking for 25+ vehicles and electrical power is accessible throughout the gardens.
